Medical Elektro
Medical Elektro specialises in used, refurbished surgical microscopes. Our range includes well-established models from reputable manufacturers used across different medical specialties.
Medical Elektro has been operating since 2002. We began by selling dental equipment, and in 2005 we expanded into medical equipment, with a particular focus on operating theatre equipment.
Since 2011, surgical microscopes have been the main focus of our business. Every microscope we offer undergoes surgical microscope refurbishment at Medical Elektro. The scope of the work is tailored to the condition and configuration of the individual unit.
Current range and microscope availability
We display a status for every microscope to show its current availability. This makes it easy to distinguish between devices that are ready for sale, microscopes for which the expected availability date must be confirmed individually, and units that have already been sold.
For microscopes with the On request status, we provide photographs of the device and confirm its configuration before the purchase is finalised. Until then, the product page may show a previously sold unit of the same model.

We select used surgical microscopes from reputable manufacturers on the secondary market, taking into account the model, configuration and whether the individual unit can be prepared for sale.

We arrange collection of the device and its transport to Medical Elektro.
Surgical microscope refurbishment
Once it arrives at our premises, the microscope undergoes refurbishment. The individual stages are presented on our Surgical microscope refurbishment page.
Preparing the product listing
Once refurbishment is complete, we take photographs of the individual microscope and prepare a structured technical description of its configuration and equipment.
Secure packing and shipping
Before shipping, we secure the microscope appropriately and place it in a transport crate made to fit the individual device. The process is described in detail on our Surgical microscope packaging page.

To present our equipment, we created an in-house studio with a cyclorama designed for photographing complete surgical microscopes.
What affects the price of a microscope?
We determine the final price of each microscope individually. When pricing a particular unit, we take into account:
- model and year of manufacture
- purchase price and current market value
- microscope configuration and equipment
- scope of the work completed and parts used during refurbishment
The scope of the work required and the cost of the parts used vary from one unit to another, but every microscope we offer is refurbished to the same standard.

Payment and microscope reservation
Purchases are made against a pro forma invoice. A particular unit may be reserved once an individually agreed deposit has been paid. The amount depends on the selected device and the order value. The remaining balance is payable before the microscope is shipped or delivered. We ship or deliver the device once payment has been received in full.
12-month warranty and support after purchase
Every microscope purchased from Medical Elektro, including the equipment supplied with it, is covered by a 12-month warranty. After receiving a warranty claim, we carry out an initial diagnosis. If proper operation can be restored without a repair, we provide remote support, so the device does not need to be transported. In all other cases, we determine whether the repair can be carried out on site or whether the microscope needs to be transported to our premises.
If the customer needs a replacement device while the repair is being carried out, we can agree on its temporary provision on an individual basis.
After the warranty period, Medical Elektro customers can continue to receive technical support and paid post-warranty service for microscopes purchased from our company. The scope and cost of the required work are agreed individually.
Microscope packing and shipping
Once payment has cleared, we require three business days to build a transport crate tailored to the particular microscope, secure the device and arrange shipping. Every microscope shipment is insured. The delivery location and transport conditions are agreed individually with the customer.
